NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th January, 1999
S. O. 12(E)-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3, read with sections 4, 5
and 8 of the Haj Committee Act, 1959 [51 of 1959] and In supersession of the
notification number S.O. 799 (E), dated the 12th October, 1993 except as

respects thlngs done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the
Central Government hereby establishes a new Committee by the name of the
Haj Committee, consisting of the following members, namely:-
1. Shri Mohammed Ali Ashraf Fatmi, } Nominated by the Speaker of
M.P. (Lok Sabha) } the Lok Sabha
2. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Barq, M.P. (Lok Sabha) }
3. Maulana Obaidullah Khan Azmi, } Nominated by the Chairman
M.P. (Rajya Sabha) } of the Rajya Sabha
4. Shri Tanveer Ahmad } Nominated by the Central
5. Shri Gul Mohammed } Government
6. Shri Khan Mohamad All Shah Mohamad, MLA} Nominated by the Speaker
7. Shri Sabir Shaikh, MLA } of Maharashtra Legislative
} Assembly
8. Shri Shakeel Ahamed } Nominated by the
} Government of Maharashtra
9. Shri Yusuf Mohd. Hussain Abrahani, } Nominated by the

10. Shri Nasir Jamal Sheikh, } on the recommendation of

2. The names of the three members to be co-opted under clause (I) of sub-
section (1) of the said section 4 shall be notified later.
3. This notification shall come into force on the 16th day of May, 1999.
