In rule 3 of the Beedi Workers Welfare Fund Rules, 1978, for sub-clause (i) to (vi) of clause (a) of sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted, namely :— "(i) Chairman ; (ii) an officer of the Central Government who shall be the Vice-chairman, Ex-officio ; (iii) two officers of the Central Government to be nominated by the Government, ex-oflicio ; (iv) all Welfare Commissioners, ex-officio ; (v) such number of persons to represent the owners of establishments, factories or con- tractors who are engaged in manufacture of beedies as are equal in number to the aggre- gate of those provided in sub-clauses (ii) to (iv) to be appointed, atfer consultation with such organisations, if any, of the owners of beedi factories or establishments or contrac- tors, as may ^e recognised by th© Central Government in this behalf ; (vi) such number of persons, of whom one shall be a woman to represent the persons cm- ployed in the manufacture of beedies em- ployed by any establishment, or factory directly or through any agency, employers or contractor as are equal in number to those provided in sub-clasu (v) to be ap- c pointed, after consultation with sucli orga- nisations, if any, of the person so employed, MINISTRY OF LABOUR as may by recognised by the Central Govern- ment in this behalf,'' NOTIFICATIONS [No. S-23O12[l|89-W.TI(iii)] New Delhi, the 22nd January, 1991 Foot Note ;-— G.S.R. 40(E) .—Whereas draft of certain rules to amend the Beedi Workers Welfare Fund Rules, 1976 Foot Note- :—The principal rules were published, was published as required by sub-section (1) of sec- vide notification G.S.R. No. 750 dated 22-9-1989. to be affected thereby, on or before the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of the said notification ; And whereas, thg, saidi Gazette was made available to the public on the 3rd September, 1990 ; And whereas, the objections and suggestions received from the public on the said draft have been considered by the Central Government ; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the section 12 of the said Act, the Central Govern- ment hereby makes the following rules, namely :— 1. (I) Thes-e rules may be called the Beedi Workers Welfare Fund (Amendment) Rules, 1991. (2) They shall came into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 3 G.S.R. No. 589 (E), dated the 20th June, 1990 for inviting objections and suggestions from all person likely to be affected thereby, on or before the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of pub- lication of the said notification ; And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on the 3rd September, 1990. And wheneas, no objection and suggestion has been received from the public on the said draft on or before the expiry of the said period ; Now therefore, in exercise of the powers confer- ? red by the section 12 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :— 1. (1) These Rules may be called the Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment) Rules, 1991. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In Rul 3 of the Iron Ore Mines, Manganese e Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare Fund Rules, 1978, for sul>clause (i) to (vi) of clause (a) of sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted, namely :— " (i) Chairman ; (ii) an officer of the Central Government who shall be the Vice-chairman, Ex-officio ; (iii) two officers of the Central Government to be nominated by the Government-ex-offido; (iv) all Welfare Commissioner^, ex-officio ; (v) such number of persons to represent the owners of Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Oie Mines and Chrome Ore Mines as are equal in number to the aggregate of those provided in sub-clauses (ii) to (iv) to be appointed, after consultation with such or- ganisations, if any. of the owners as may be recognised by th Central Government e in this behalf ; (vi) such numbers of persons of whom one shall be a woman, to represent the persons em- ployed in Iron Ore Mines Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore IVlines as are equal in number to those provided in sub-clause (v) to be appointed, after consultation with such organisations, if any, of persons so employed as may be recognised by Central Government, in this behalf." No. 338 dated 23-3-1989. 4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] G.S.R. 42(E).—Whereas draft of cortain rules to. amend the Limestone & Dolomite Mines Labour Wel- fare Fund Rules, 1973, was published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 16 of the Limestone and Dolomite Mines Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1972 (62 of 1972), in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary), Part-Il Section(i), dated the 20th June, 1990 under the notification or the Government of India, in the Ministry of Labour G.S.R. No. 588(E), dated the 20th June, 1990 for inviting objections and sugges- tions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, on or before the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of the said notification ; And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on the 3rd September, 1990 ; And whereas, no object and suggestion has been received from the public on the said draft on or be- fore the expiry of the said period ; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the said Act, the Central Govern- ment hereby makes the following rules, namely :— 1. (1) These rules may be railed the Limestone & Dolomite Mines Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment) Rules, 1991. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2.
