It includes material describing the State's history, cultures, business and institutions. It contains reference books about Utah's environment: geology, botany, wildlife, etc. There are numerous biographies of famous Utahns. The collection has subcategories of fiction, poetry, and works for children. It also includes the writings of the many distinguished Utah authors. In general, it tries to present a composite of information concerning beehive state. The collection is designed to be representative rather than comprehensive, emphasizing general interest titles which are truly distinguished and those which occupy a position of importance or authority in the printed record of the state. Books with statewide focus have been given priority: however, exceptional titles which address topics of have also been local interest - such as the individual county histories published during the state's Centennial acquired. The Utah Historical Quarterly, an on-going record of research into the full range of subjects related to Utah's past, has been chosen as representative of Utah's many fine periodical publications. Access to and use of the collection will be at the discretion of the Governor's Mansion staff. A committee including representatives from the State Library Division, the Division of State History, the Salt Lake City Public Library, and the University of Utah Marriott Library will select books for future addition to the collection. A bibliography is maintained and is available through the Utah State Library Division. That same bibliography, as well as a future acquisition list, can be found on the Internet at: http://pioneer.utah.gov/mansionlibrary.html ACKNOWLEDGMENTS The Governor's Mansion Foundation Library Committee wishes to acknowledge the generous support of the following institutions and individuals who contributed to the restoration of the Governor's Mansion Library. 3 BEST COPY AVAILABLE http://library.utah.gov/utgovmanlib.html (1 of 3) [4/25/2003 3:40:58 PM] Utah Governors Mansion Library Bibliography - Utah State Library Division INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTORS Thomas G.
