Preview Environmental Hydraulics, Two Volume Set: Proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on Enviornmental Hydraulics, Athens, Greece, 23-25 June 2010

Over the last two decades environmental hydraulics as an 1 1 academic discipline has expanded considerably, caused by growing concerns over water environmental issues associated with pollution and water balance problems on regional and global scale. These issues require a thorough understanding of processes related to environmental fl ows and transport phenomena, and the development of new approaches for practical solutions. HE Environmental Hydraulics includes about 200 contributions from 35 countries presented at the 6th International Symposium n y on Environmental Hydraulics (Athens, Greece, 23-25 June 2010). dv They cover the state-of-the-art on a broad range of topics, i including: rr • Fundamentals aspects of environmental fl uid mechanics; ao • Environmental hydraulics problems of inland, coastal and u n ground waters; l • Computational, experimental and fi eld measurement im Environmental techniques; c • Interfacial processes; se • Ecological aspects, and n • Eff ects of global climate change. Hydraulics t a Environmental Hydraulics will be of interest to researchers in l environmental fl uid mechanics and hydraulics, to professional engineers dealing with the design and operation or environmental impact assessment of hydraulic works such as river, coastal and marine constructions, wastewater treatment &G George C. Christodoulou and disposal, surface and groundwater development, as well as Ae o to academics and graduate students in related fi elds. n & Anastasios I. Stamou r ag se t a C s io. C sh Ir .
