Adepressingenvironmentdestroyslocalpride, attractscrime,detersinvestmentandleavespeoplefeelingpowerless. Yetqualityattractsquality,good designattractslifeandinvestmentandastrongcommunitystandsoutagainstcrime. Weneedtopaymoreattentiontourbandetail;whetherinstreetsignsandfurniture, inthestandardoflocalservices,orinthethoughtfulnessofdesignofthepublicspacebetween buildings.
