The conferencewassponsoredbytheInstituteforSystemsandTechnologiesofInformation, ControlandCommunication (INSTICC),held incooperation with theAssociation for Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), the IEICE Special Interest Group on Software InterpriseModelling(SWIM),the ACM SpecialInterest Group on Manage- mentInformationSystems(SIGMIS),andtheACMSpecialInterestGrouponComputer HumanInteractionandincollaborationwiththeInformaticsResearchCenter(IRC). The conference was organized in six simultaneous tracks: Databases and Infor- mation Systems Integration, Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Specification, Software Agents and Internet Computing, Human–Computer Interaction and Enterprise Architecture. The book is based on the same structure. ICEIS 2013 received 321 paper submissions from 48 countries in all continents. From these, after a blind review process, 33 % were published and presented orally, from which 29 were selected for inclusion in this book, based on the classifications provided by the Program Committee. The selected papersreflectstate-of-art research workthatisoftenorientedtowardreal-worldapplicationsandhighlightthebenefitsof information systems and technology for industry and services, thus making a bridge between the worlds of academia and enterprise.
