The main objectives of it were to bring together learned mathematicians, scientists, engineers, and researchers from academia and industries to a common platform for the exchange of ideas regarding research findings and new advances in the diverse areas of mathematics, sciences and engineering and the solutions adopted thereto. We hope that the contents of the book “Emerging Advancements in Mathematical Sciences” will be able to enthuse the interest of researchers in the areas involving vibrant implicational aspects of mathematics in relation to engineering and sciences. The key topics included in it pertain to fuzzy mathematics and logic, information and coding theory, decision making, optimization and its applications, wave propagation and applications, computational fluid dynamics, fuzzy topology, etc. The book can also be of interest to research scholars, academicians and scientists who want to enhance their knowledge in the context of new insight and mathematical ideas in the aforementioned areas. The book “Emerging Advancements in Mathematical Sciences” is devoted to the recent developments in the different directions having use of mathematical concepts. The articles included in this book are selected after a rigorous peer review process by the committee of experts in the related areas keeping in mind the novelty and usefulness of the contents. Undoubtedly, the sole responsibility of the originality of the work included in this book will be that of the contributing authors of the chapters. This book includes twelve chapters. In Chapter 1, self-dual, singly even and double-even extremal binary linear block code is constructed using the unitary units of quaternion group. To improve the rates and error handling capabilities, the modification techniques are applied on self-dual codes. viii Bhagwati Prasad Chamola, Pato Kumari and Lakhveer Kaur Chapter 2 investigates the SH waves propagation in an initially stressed viscoelastic orthotropic layer over an orthotropic elastic half-space and the effect of the coefficient of attenuation and the initial stress parameter on phase velocity of SH waves travelling in layered orthotropic medium is studied in it. Chapter 3 deals with mathematical modelling related to a system of non-linear delay differential equations incorporating the fact that impact of one or more toxicants on the ecosystem is beneficial for the development and wellbeing of a single or interactive biological organism. Chapter 4 presents the differential geometry of 𝐶ℎ-recurrent Finsler spaces and discusses a semi-concurrent vector field in such spaces and other interesting results appear subsequently. The numerical solution of boundary layer flow a past stretching sheet with zero flux by using shooting method is studied in Chapter 5. The convection initiation in a linear stability problem involving a micropolar fluid and Coriolis force is studied and the eigenvalue problem for the condition of various boundary combinations is solved with the help of the Boussinesq assumption, linear stability concepts, and normal mode techniques in Chapter 6. In Chapter 7, nourishing number is determined for powers of various graphs. A case study of wind speed forecasting using time series method is studied in Chapter 8. Chapter 9 focusses on the study of fuzzy topology induced by binary fuzzy relation and explores some important topological properties. In Chapter 10, the Markovian queueing systems are explored when a server is unreliable and works under N- policy. The study is concerned with servers rendering the services at a lower rate instead of completely terminating the service when the server is on vacation period. The behaviour of the system indices is depicted by performance indices and numerical experiments. Chapter 11 presents a new class of rings called weakly 𝑔(𝑥)-invo clean ring and concerning results. The authors examine several recent developments and uses of variational iteration method (VIM) encountered in the past studies in Chapter 12. Although we have put our best efforts to ensure the accuracy of the book’s contents, we cannot claim that the book is free from errors. We apologise to readers for this.
