My main proposition is that mankind must be predisposed for peace by the right kind of education. It would have been simpler to leave 3 1 that argument in the air, but since war is an immediate threat I have 0 2 r thought it honest not to disguise my pacifist sentiments, for education e b for peace will only get a chance if in the meantime we refrain from war. m e Four of these papers were originally delivered in 1947 or 1948 as t p e lectures in various parts of the world—Sweden, Greece, Czecho- S 3 Slovakia, Belgium, the United States of America and England. The 2 1 final essay was originally published by the Freedom Press (London) as 1 : 3 a separate pamphlet. For a more complete statement of the theory of 0 at education which lies at the basis of them all, the reader is referred to ] y the author's previous book, Education Through Art. t i s r H.
