Under the topic "E-Manufacturing, Advances in business paradigms andsupportingtechnologies", thisevent took place inJuly 2002 inPorto, Portugal,a jointorganisation of: INESC Porto Faculty ofEngineering oftheUniversity ofPorto International Society for Production Enhancement and withthesupport ofthePortugueseFoundation for Science andTechnology. This book includes a selection of the papers presented in CARs&FOF'2002 as well as invited papers reflecting the vitality of the discussions held in the conference plenary sessions.
