SCHOLARLY AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES (a) Areas of special interest and accomplishments 1 I have a special interest in functional evaluation, outcome measurement and information systems in rehabilitation. I introduced the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation to University Hospital and later Vancouver Hospital. I developed a proposal for a provincial rehabilitation database pilot project. I was a member of the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) Advisory Panel that developed a national minimum data set for rehabilitation. I was a consultant to CIHI on the revision of the International Classification of Impairment, Disability and Handicap (the ICF). 2 I have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of fatigue in neurological and neuromuscular disorders such as spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis and stroke. I chair the G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre Research Group in Fatigue and Function in Neurological and Neuromuscular Disorders (F2N2). 3 I have a Special interest in resident research education and development.
