The Secretary’s Memorandum, 5400-6, Use of Ethanol-Blended Oxygenated Fuels in USDA Highway Vehicles, requires Department employees to use ethanol blends in USDA owned and leased vehicles whenever available and the price is competitive. The Secretary also encourages employees to use ethanol blends (gasohol) in their personal vehicles. Competitive pricing is seldom a problem because ethanol-blended gasoline is often the lowest priced in town! However, finding the service stations that sell ethanol blends and accept the U.S. Government National Credit Card is frequently a problem. This publication is an attempt at providing you with assistance in locating stations which are likely to sell ethanol-blended fuel and which will accept government credit cards. The data on companies selling blended fuel was supplied by the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA), the State Corn Growers Associations, and the USDA Farmers Home Administration (FmHA) field offices. The directory lists companies/gas stations selling ethanol-blended fuel by (1) state; (2) grade(s) of ethanol and stations where it is sold and their general locations; and (3) companies selling the indicated grade(s) of ethanol; e.g., in Alabama, all Crown stations blend ethanol in all grades of their gasoline. For additional reference, companies/gas stations accepting the Government National Credit Card are identified by an asterisk. U.S DEPT OF AGRiCUlTURE NATIONALAGRICULTURAL LIBRARY AUG 3 n 1993 CATALOGS To identify other stations selling ethanol-blended gasoline, look for a label on the pump that will say that the gasoline contains ethanol or gasohol. Please keep this list in your personal and government vehicle(s) so that you can identify stations likely to sell ethanol- blended gasoline when you are traveling. We plan to update this listing on a periodic basis. We need your help to keep this listing current and to add to it for the following reasons: A. Companies change their policy on blending and accepting credit cards. B. Distributors may blend in some locations and not in others. C. Different companies have different policies on using and blending the same brand. D. As a traveler, you will become aware of the changes in the availability of ethanol-blended fuels and the gasoline companies’ policies regarding acceptance of credit cards before we will, and it is important that we update the list as rapidly as possible.
