Did our North Carolina BEASLEY/BEESLEY Ancestors
go thru Tennessee?

In an attempt to determine if my Beasley/Beesley ancestral line migrated westward from eastern North
Carolina into and/or thru Tennessee before heading towards Mississippi & Louisiana, I am tracking
Beasley/Beesley "footprints" thru western North Carolina counties/"districts" (some of which became part of
the state of Tennessee) and into Tennessee. I have researched Marriage Records of Rutherford Co., TN to
"pick up their trail" from NC to TN relative to Beasley/Beesley ancestors &/or the families with whom they
likely intermarried.
Listed below you will find some surnames typed only in black which are believed connected to
Beasley/Beesley research. Surnames denoted with an asterisk (*) in front of the red surname and also typed
in red represent my potential direct ancestral line(s). You will note that some surnames have a parentheses
stating: (denoted with *). There is no explanation as to the meaning of the asterisk used in the originally-
transcribed lists, and warrant further research by you. Other surnames typed in red represent surnames
recognized as likely either from early eastern NC or are specific surnames sought by other researchers on
our Austin Beasley website.
You will note inquiries following some listed individuals. If you have corroborated or otherwise confirmed
information requested for the particular individual, please respond to me at my email address so that I may

12/20/2009: My records DO show an ABSALOM TAYLOR who was either a
son or brother of JAMES TAYLOR, SR. My records also show that an
ABSALOM TAYLOR was present in Rutherford Co., TN from about 1809. I
do not know if ABSALOM was a brother or a son....of James TAYLOR, Sr.
My records show further that James TAYLOR, SR had an elder brother named
AARON and named one of his sons, AARON.”
