I’ve once again revised and updated this book, and now the book stands
improved mainly in three ways:
First, the number of headwords have gone up. The headwords that have
now been added are those that are important for fluency in content-
intensive speech and writing,
Second, the collections of word combinations under all the headwords
have now become quite comprehensive,
Third, you’ll find a frequency code printed next to each of the headwords.
This feature makes it easy for you to find out whether a particular
headword is relatively more (or less) frequent than another one.
If you have any suggestions, comments or criticisms, please do write to
me (care of the Adult Faculties Council).
