During his tenure, the graph of development of the Department of Physical Education moved upward at an unprecedented pace. Sh. Balvinder Singh Principal, Govt. College, Sector-11, Chandigarh January 2003 to December 2004 Principal Aggarwal perhaps was the most satisfied Principal on account of the development and growth of the Department. He, being a basketball player of his own time, introduced novelty in various programmes organized by the Department throughout the year, for example organizing National Sports Day as a campaign to create awareness among the people of the city beautiful about the role of physical activities and sports in one’s life. Dr. Pahlad Aggarwal Principal, Govt. College, Sector-11, Chandigarh January 2005 to March 2006 During short stay of Dr. A.N Garg as Principal, the Department of Physical Education witnessed trying moments as admission was not made to one batch of B.P.Ed. Perhaps, this move created anxiety among all the stake holders recognition of B.P.Ed Course. However,things moving towards the right direction. Credit goes to Dr. Garg for setting a stage for thr recognition of B.P.Ed Course. Dr. A.N Garg Principal, Govt. College, Sector-11, Chandigarh April 2006 to August 2007 Department of Physical Education – Teacher Education and Learning Page 8 Dr. A.L Gauba, Principal of the college provided whole hearted support to the Department and left no stone unturned in the process of getting recognition of B.P.Ed Course. Finally, it was in his time when the course got recognition from the NCTE in June 2008. Dr. A.L Gauba Principal, Govt. College, Sector-11, Chandigarh September 2007 to June 2009 We acknowledge most valuable contribution of Dr. Shyam Sunder, ou ex-principal and patron who made untiriing efforts to start M.P.Ed Course and get recognized by the NCTE and many such innivatives activities.
