Named after the struggle icon and South Africa’s pioneer diplomat, Oliver Reginald Tambo (27 October 1917 – 24 April 1993), this magnificent building seeks to portray the principles that underpin South Africa’s democratic dispensation. To this day, the values that OR Tambo stood for, namely: Patriotism, Integrity, Humility and Passion, guide the work of DIRCO officials. The year 2017 marks the centenary of OR Tambo. 1.
