DownloadthelatestsoftwareinstallerfromtheEVMproduct folderonwww.ti.com. NOTE: Registrationforthesoftwareatwww.ti.comisrequired.Onceyouhaveregisteredand completedabriefrequestform,thesoftwareshouldbeavailablefordownload. 2. LocatetheinstallernamedDELTASIGMAEVAL-GUI-installer.exe anddouble-clicktorun. ThedefaultinstalldirectoryisC:\ProgramFiles(x86)\TexasInstruments\DSEvalSW.Theproduct versioncanbeviewedundertheFile>Abouttaboftheinstaller. 3. Followthepromptsandagreetothelicenseterms. 2.2 Device Package ThecoreapplicationsupportsmultipleEVMsandrequiresadevicepackagefor eachdeviceEVM.The mainsoftwareidentifiestheconnectedhardwareatstartupandusestheappropriatefilesfor thespecific device. Thedevicepackage(-DVCPKG)shouldbeinstalledafterthecoreapplicationandislocatedinthe product folder(orprovided). 2.3 Driver Installation 2.3.1 AutomaticInstallation Thesoftwaredriversinstall aspartofthecoresoftwareinstallationprocess.Thedriversarepre-installed andrequirethatthehardwarebeconnectedtothePCtocompletetheinstallationprocess. Duringtheinstallationprocesses,youmayreceiveawarningmessageregardingthefailureofthe driver installation.Thiserrorcanresultifthedriversarealreadyinstalledorduetootherinstallationfailures.This messageshouldnotaffecttheinstallationofthemainapplication.Afterthecompletionoftheinstaller, checktoseeifthedriverswerecorrectlyinstalled.Thecorrect drivershowsas“GenericBulkDevice”(with VID=1CBEandPID=003)inthe Device Manager. Ifthedriversinstalledcorrectly,nofurther actionisrequired.If thedriversarenotcorrectlyinstalled, pleaseusethemanualprocessshowninSection2.3.2. 2.3.2 ManualDriver Installation Thedriverinstallerandfilesarelocatedintheinstallationdirectoryunderthe driversfolder. 2.3.2.1 AutomatedManualDriverInstallation Theinstallers folder(underthe driversfolder)containsa32-bitand64-bitdriverinstallerthat attemptsto automaticallyinstall thefilestoyourPC. 2.3.2.2 ManualDriverInstallation Ifbothmethods(Section2.3.1andSection2.3.2.1)fail, usethe usb_dev_bulk.inffiletomanually install thedriveroncethehardwareisconnected. IfWindowsautomaticallyinstallsadifferent driverthantheincludedhardwaredriver,manuallyupdate the drivertothecorrectoneintheDeviceManager. Whenthehardwareisconnectedandthecorrect driverisinstalled,thehardwareisshownas “Generic BulkDevice”withVID=1CBEandPID=003. Thisareaprovidesconnection information,statusmessages,andcollectionprogressfromtheprogram.
