(approx) of non-Morphological Ridge area from out of total project area of 26.715 ha. as detailed below for improvement of T-Junction near Dhaula Kuan Metro Station including Widening of National Highway from Dhaula Kuan up to end of Junction on NH-8 and improvement of T-Junction near Defence Area including widening of National Highway up to Defence area on NH-8., New Delhi, from the provision of sub-section (3) of section 9 of the said Act. Total 979 9790 The said exemption is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:- (a) The applicant shall make an advance deposit of an amount of Rs. 5,58,03,000 /- (Rupees Five Crore Fifty Eight Lakh Three Thousand Only) towards security deposit for creation and maintenance of compensatory plantation for a period of Seven years as follows: Project Location of Compensatory Number of Total Amount To be No. Afforestation plantation saplings to be including other Deposited planted (Number Administrative with Forest of trees) expenses and Division contingency charges (in Rs.) 1. 100% (9790) no. by the West Forest 9790 5,58,03,000 /- Deputy Division on behalf of User Agency Conservator i.e NHAI over 9.8 ha. (approx) area of Forests from out of the total 21.52 ha. Land (West)/ allotted by DDA at Shastri Park Tree Officer Metro Station, River Yamuna and Old Iron Bridge for compensatory plantation of 9790 saplings under DPTA, 1994. 4 DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY PART IV] (b) The compensatory plantation as shown below will be raised and maintained for Seven years and monitored till its successful establishment:- (i) 9790 Nos. by the West Forest Division on behalf of User Agency i.e NHAI over 9.8 ha. (approx) area from out of the total 21.52 ha. Land at Shastri Park Metro Station, River Yamuna and Old Iron Bridge allotted by DDA vide letter No. F.32(19)/17/IL/4654 dated 06/11/2017. (c) The felling of 979 trees is granted subject to approval of balance project area of 12.28 ha. inside morphological ridge by CEC/ Hon’ble Supreme Court as this is a single project consisting morphological ridge as well as non- morphological ridge and will not be felled till clearance for felling of 930 trees inside morphological ridge by CEC/ Hon’ble Supreme Court. (d) The permission for remaining 233 trees in non-Morphological Ridge will be issued separately as and when required, for which a provision for compensatory plantation of 2330 trees over 2.33 ha. Area approx has been kept from the total area of 21.52 ha. allotted by DDA vide (b) above. (e) The balance 930 trees felling in 12.28 ha. of Morphological Ridge shall not be felled by NHAI till clearance from CEC/ Hon’ble Supreme Court. A provision for compensatory plantation of 9300 trees over an area 9.30 ha. approx has been kept from the total area of 21.52 ha. allotted by DDA vide (b) above. (f) The timber obtained from felling/ transplanting of 979 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and deposit the proceeds as revenue to the government. (g) The lops and tops obtained on removal of firewood species of trees shall be handed over by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to the officials concerned of MCD for use in public crematoria of Delhi as firewood, free of cost. (h) Before shifting of wood if any, from site of removal of trees, transportation permission for transportation of the said wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (West).
