NOTIFICATION
Delhi, the 16th January, 2017
F. No. R.303/TO(S)/TC.Felling/16-17/3940-48.—Whereas the Government of National Capital Territory of
Delhi considers it necessary to do so in the public interest,
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994
(Delhi Act 11 of 1994), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby exempts an area of total 1.10 ha.
(approx) as detailed below for construction of Defence Pavilion at Pragati Maiden, New Delhi by India Trade Promotion
Organization, from the provision of sub-section (3) of section 9 of the said Act.

The exemption is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The applicant shall make an advance deposit of an amount of Rs. 56,43,000 /- (Rupees Fifty Six Lacs Forty Three
Thousand Only) towards security deposit for creation and maintenance of compensatory plantation for a period of 7
(Seven) years as follows:

b) The compensatory plantation of 990 will be raised and maintained for 7 (Seven) years i.e. a break-up of 550 and 440
no. of trees for compensatory plantation will be done by India Trade Promotion Organization at the land given by
ITPO at campus of ITPO, Pragati Maidan and at the land of ITPO in Gazipur respectively and monitor it till its
successful establishment.
c) The 990 Nos of compensatory plantation (100%) will be planted by User Agency through Horticulture Division of
CPWD at (1) Pragati Maidan itself (550 Nos) and (2) ITPO land at Ghazipur (440 Nos) and maintained for 7 years.
d) The timber obtained from felling of 99 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and the proceeds as
revenue shall be deposited in the account of DCF (South).
e) The firewood (if any) obtained on removal of firewood species of trees shall be handed over by the India Trade
Promotion Organization to the officials concerned of MCD for its use on public crematoria in Delhi in consultation
with the territorial DCF, if applicable.
f) Before shifting of wood if any, from site of removal of trees, transportation permission for transportation of the said
wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (South)
