Each book explores the major themes, historical and philosophical context and key passages of a major philosophical text, guiding the reader toward a thorough understanding of often demanding material. I must thank, too, Claire Colebrook, William Connolly, Sarah Campbell (my very patient editor), Martin Fuglsang, Fredric Jameson, Christian Kerslake, Gregg Lambert, John Marks, Negar Mottahedeh, Paul Patton, Adrian Parr, Patricia Pisters, David Rodowick, Marc Rolli, Horst Ruthrof, David Savat, Daniel W. Smith, Bent Meier S0rensen, Marcel Swiboda, Nick Thoburn and James Williams - each, in their own way, stimulated me to see Deleuze and Guattari's work differently. None can be blamed for how differently I've seen things. Again, I must thank Tanya Buchanan . . . we've gone a long way baby, you and I. Special thanks, too, to Courtney and Sebastian who mostly kept the noise down, mostly. Cardiff, May 2007 A NOTE ON THE TEXT This book is a sequel to Deleuzism. It provides more detail on the connection between Deleuze's work and dialectics, a connection that I'm no longer the only one to see. But it also tries something different, which I call 'practical Deleuzism'.
