Cover Letter for RSX-11M-PLUS Version 4.6

Version 4.6 is a maintenance release of RSX-IIM-PLUS software and documentation that contains
several enhancements to make computing with RSX faster and easier. The RSX-llM-PLUS
Release Notes contain descriptions of the enhancements, a list of new hardware products that are
supported in Version 4.6, and corrections to the RSX-IIM-PLUS documentation set, including
corrections to the RSX-llM-PLUS System Generation and Installation Guide.
For information on installing your operating system, please consult the RSX-llM-PLUS Release
Notes and the RSX-llM-PLUS System Generation and Installation Guide.
RL02 PREG ENERATED KIT USERS
The Pregenerated RL02 Kit is now included on the tape kit. Be sure to refer to
the Release Notes for information regarding this change for the Pregenerated
RL02 Kit, and the procedure for restoring this kit to an RL02 pack. This informa
tion is located in the Changes to Documentation for the RSX-llM-PLUS System
Generation Guide and Installation Guide.
For TK50 and 4mm DAT tape distributions, there is only one tape. The beginning of the tape
contains BRU8YS, followed by the RSX backup sets, the layered product corrections, and finally the
pregenned RL02 kit. If an online sysgen is performed, the BRU used to copy the first backup set
must support skipping over the bootable BRUSYS image.
