Nibenay(cid:151)Home of the mysterious Shadow King. It is a vast, walled city, full of buildings covered in bizarre reliefs. Substantial rice paddies lie all around end even within the city itself, tended by legions of slaves and their grim Mul overseers. Nibenay seethes with activity. Ordinary citizens hurry from place to place under the watchful eye of the Shadow King(cid:146)s warriors. Slaves haul goods for merchants, while crodlu and inix crowd the streets, carrying cargo, both living and nonliving. Templars walk past the ornate buildings, swaggering confidently. To your surprise, you realize that all of the Nibeni templars are women. You put this down to the infamous eccentricity of the Shadow King, who rarely ventures from his vast walled palace near the center of the city. In the distance, you see the king(cid:146)s compound. In the center is a vast carving-the bust of a grim, dangerous(cid:151)looking man. (cid:147)See?(cid:148) says a templar, pointing. (cid:147)That is the head of our sacred and beloved Shadow King. No mere mortal may enter his inner sanctum.(cid:148)
