His research interests lie in cultural economics and economic history, as such he has studied the historical incidence, development andlong-termimportanceofcultural heritage and artistic activityinaglobalcontext,withaparticularfocusoncreativeclustersandmigration of artists. He has published, among others, in the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Cultural Economics, European ReviewofEconomicHistory andOxfordEconomicPapers.Heistherecipient of severalacademicprizesandgrants,sitsontheexecutiveboardoftheAssociationfor Cultural Economics International (http://www.culturaleconomics.org/), and is co- founderandco-editorofEconomistsTalkArt.org(http://economiststalkart.org/)—a platformaimedatthedisseminationofresearch-basedpolicyanalysisandcommen- tarybyculturaleconomists.e-mail:[email protected] NeilForbes isprofessorofinternationalhistoryatCoventryUniversity,intheUK, and coordinator of the EU’s FP7 RICHES project—Renewal, Innovation and Change:HeritageandEuropeanSociety.Hisresearchinterestsandpublicationslie inculturalheritage,especiallyconflictheritageandthememorialisationofwar,and in the history of international political, economic and business relations from the nineteenth century, specialising in the study of the interwar years.
