the crusader easter 2013 Of first Importance by Nick Orduna “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to L the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” A N 1 Corinthians 15 : 3-4 O I T O Sometimes I tend to talk about the gospel as if Jesus died on the Forgiveness of sins would be hopeless: V cross and that is the end of the story. The cross is central to our “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; E salvation, but what God accomplished there is incomplete unless you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:17) D the tomb is empty. Therefore, the resurrection of Christ is vital “for us and our salvation”. Without it, we would be lost! Take just a few John MacArthur once said, “Without Christ’s resurrec- r thoughts and verses for example: tion, and the salvation and blessings it brings, Christianity e would be pointless and pitiable. Without the resurrection t Our regeneration (new birth) is grounded in the resurrection: we would have no Savior, no forgiveness, no gospel, no s God has “caused us to be born again to a living hope through meaningful faith, no life, and we could never have hope for a the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Pet 1:3) any of those things.” e Our justification is grounded in the resurrection: Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ the gospel would “who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up be meaningless. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” (Rom 4:23-25) mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Our sanctification is grounded in the resurrection: “just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Christ is risen! Indeed He has risen! Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” (Rom 6:3-4) All-School Picnic All-School Carnival Saturday, April 13, 2013 • 5PM • Lincoln Christian School and Field Day Music Concerts Junior High Spring Concert Tuesday, Apr 23, 2013 • 7:00PM in the Elementary Gym m On Friday, May 10th, students and their Solo/Ensemble Night a families are invited to attend Lincoln r Monday, May 6, 2013 • 7:00PM in the Elementary Gym Christian’s All-School Picnic and Field Day. k Come for a free lunch of burgers and hot Elementary Spring Concert Tuesday, May 7, 2013 • 7:00PM in the Elementary Gym y dogs catered by Upper Crust.
