It was worth the eff ort, but after two days of tube trains and as much sight-seeing as possible, we were pleased to be back home in our familiar, calmer, surroundings. We feel a similar way about CrossStitcher too. We really want it to feel like the calm of coming home after a busy day – a chance to relax and sink into the familiar, and also a place to be inspired.  To welcome you this month we have a ‘wave’ of nostalgia with a mini printers’ tray fi lled with images of a summer beach (page 18). Each design slots into a diff erent section in the tray, making it rewarding to complete one small project at a time.  Speaking of welcomes, we have a lovely nursery gift idea. Some very special animals are waiting for you on page 40. We can just imagine them becoming part of many a bedtime story!   We have inspiring ways to celebrate summer too. We hope you love the meadow fl ower lampshade (page 58) and our ladybird cushion (page 32) as much as we do.   Happy stitching! SUSAN & MARTIN PENNY EDITORS P.S.
