My stay at the CCLS, in particular, contributed greatly to my understanding of the common law legaltraditionandinfluencedthefinalshapeofmythesis. But it was the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot which in 2008 sparked my interest in international arbitration. Although the way from the initial ideatothefinalproductwaslongandfullofchallenges,Irememberwithnostalgia thatitwasintheVisMootwhereIfirstencounteredtheproblemwhichservedasan inspiration for this project. My thanks therefore go to the organisers of the Moot, my former team members and coaches. Furthermore, I would like thank the students of Aarhus University, whom I had the pleasure to meet later on in my capacityasacoachoftheMoot, andwhohavebeenagreatsourceofinspirationto meinthelastcoupleofyears. Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude to the Ph.D. assessment committee consisting of: Prof. Peter Arnt Nielsen, Dr. Patricia Shaugnessy and Prof. Kim Sommer Jensen for their thoughtful comments.
