In a single year the hospital admits almost 15,000 patients, treats over 50,000 emergency visits, completes 145,000 diagnostic exams, performs over 9,000 surgeries, welcomes almost 3,000 babies, 06 Oct 2009 runs over 1.6 million lab tests and handles over 58,000 ambulatory care visits. Coming in 2014 Markham Stouffville Hospital will be an enhanced centre of health and wellness providing outstanding care to our community with a new Emergency Department, improved and expanded Ambulatory Clinics, more inpatient beds and Operating Rooms, new Diagnostic Imaging Department, new Maternal/Child Services, new Critical Care and a New Mental Health Unit.
