Introduction
ThegenusAnchoce1・usFAUvEL,1905isasmall genuscontainingatpresent10
species,occurringinthesoutheasternportionofthePalaearcticregion,andintheOri-
enta1andAustralianregions.Norepresentativesofthegenuswereuntilnowrecorded
fromthePeoples' RepublicofChina,butthegenuswasexpectedtoberepresentedin
thequediinefaunaofmainlandChina,sinceseveralspeciesareknownfromtheHi-
malayaand fromtheneighbouringMyanmar(SMETANA,1988.HERMAN 2001). and
onespeciesfromTaiwan(SMETANA,1996).
Anchoce1・usschuelke1,describedasnewfromSichuanandnorthernYunnan,and
anotherspeciesthaicannotbepositivelyidentifiedatpresent,becomethefirst「eP「e-
sentativesofthegenusinmainlandChina.
ThegenusAnchoce,uswasdiscussedandsufficientlycharacterizedbySMETANA
(1g88,361);thereaderisthereforereferredtothatpaperforanyinformation

Geog1-aphical distrlbution. Anchocerus schuelke1 is at present known from
southernSichuanandnorthernYunnan.Itmaybemorewidelydistributed.
Bionomics. ThespecimencollectednearYongsheng,Yunnan,wastakenbysift-
ingforestfloorlitterinasecondarybroadleavedforest.
Recognitionandcomments. Anchocerusschuelke1isoneofthesmallerspecies
ofthegenus. Itissimilar toA montlcolaCAMERON,1926(knownonly fromtheHi-
malayainUttarPradesh),whichisofsimilarsmallsize,butitdiffersbythechaetotaxy
ofthehead(inA monticolatheposterior frontalpunctureissituatedmuchmorecloser
totheposteriormarginofthehead),andbythemarkedlydifferentshapeofthepara-
mereoftheaedoeagus(theparamereinAmonticola isdistinctlyshorter,withwide,
subemarginateapicalmargin(seefig 347inSMETANA,1988).
Theabdomenoftheallotypeisquiteextended;themaximumlengthgivenabove
isa(ljustedinviewofthisfact.
Etymo1o1gy. Patronymic,thespecieswasnamedinhonorofmy friendMichael
ScHOLKE,Berlin,whocollectedtheallotype.

Comments. It is unfortunately impossibletopositively identifythissingle fe-
male.Itisratherlarge(size105mm). ItseemstobelongtothebroadervicinityofA
montanus,basedontheverysparseandfinepunctationofthedorsalsideofthehead
andonthefact thatthelargelateralsetiferouspunctureonthepronotumisdoubled.
Thetergite10ofthefemalegenitalsegmentisshowninFig 5. Males areneeded for
properassessmentofthespecies.

A.SMETANA:中国産ツヤムネハネカクシ亜族に関する知見. 25.A,1chocerus属. _ 中国大
陸からAnc/,oce,-us属のツヤムネハネカクシ類2種を初めて記録し, そのうちの四川省南部およ
び云南省北西部で発見された1種を新種と認めて, A.sc/,uelke,と命名記載した. 他の1種は福
建省の武夷山で発見されたものだが,雌1点のみしか知られてぃなぃので,命名を差し控えた.
