Wewillbe gatheringto celebrateour50th yearas aConferencethis summer. Whata privilegetoparticipateinaneventlikethis andcelebratethemanygraciousblessings ofGod. Inthepast50years,therehavebeenmany changes. Someofyouwillrememberwhen we held our Annual Meetings in member churches who also provided all the hous- ing and cooked our meals. During that time we enjoyed the leadership ofpresi- dents, vice-presidents, recording secretar- ies, treasurers and board members, many of whom are now with the Lord. The changes in leadership overthe years have brought us new ideas and guidance, re- minding me that God has sovereignly led us in the way He has chosen forus. I believe the Lord has blessed our Conference because we have continued to be bound together by the basic truths in God's Word which honor Him. The essen- tials have remained unchanged. Praise the Lord! As a Conference ofchurches, we continue to serve the Lord in communities all over this country, to support our churches through regional fellowships, and to support missionaries around the world. Through our churches, we continue to reach the unreached. Intheyearstocome, Iamsurewewill facemorechanges; butbyGod'sgrace, the thingsthatuniteus - thebasic elements ofourfaith -will remainunchanged. The Lordprovidesthepeople He chooses forthetimeHechooses asHe andHistruth remain unchanged. Iurgeyoutojoinus inMinnesotathis summertohelpuscelebratethe 50years of blessing we have received from the Lord. We will unite our hearts as delegates, pastors and visitors from our churches all over America (and some from around theworld) inworship andpraisetothe GodWho has calledustobe His servants.
