This conference was held in cooperation with the Association for Com- puting Machinery – Special Interest Group for Information Technology Education, European Council for Business Education (ECBE), and Association des Technologies de l’Information pour l’Education et la Formation (ATIEF). The conference was also technicallyco-sponsoredbytheIEEEEducationSociety–CapituloEspañolandSPEE (Sociedade Portuguesa para a Educação em Engenharia). ThepurposeoftheCSEDUseriesofconferencesistobringtogetherresearchersand practitionersinterestedinmethodologiesandapplicationsrelatedtotheeducationfield. It had five main topic areas, covering different aspects of computer-supported educa- tion, including “Information Technologies Supporting Learning,” “Learning/Teaching Methodologies and Assessment,” “Social Context and Learning Environments,” “Domain Applications and Case Studies,” and “Ubiquitous Learning.” CSEDU 2014 received 242 paper submissions from 57 countries in all continents. From these, only 32papers wereselected tobe published and presentedas full papers andanother69papers,describingwork-in-progress,wereselectedasshortpapersfora 20-minuteoralpresentation.Thesenumbers,leadingtoafull-paperacceptanceratioof 13 % and an oral paper presentation ratio of 29 %, show the intention of preserving a high-quality forum for the next editions of this conference. Thisbookcontainstherevisedpapersselectedamongthebestcontributions,taking alsointoaccountthequalityoftheirpresentationattheconference,assessedbysession chairs.Therefore,wehopethatyoufindthesepapersinterestingandwetrusttheymay represent a helpful reference for all those who need to address any of the aforemen- tioned research areas.
