ThisSpringerimprintispublishedbytheregisteredcompanySpringerNatureSwitzerlandAG Theregisteredcompanyaddressis:Gewerbestrasse11,6330Cham,Switzerland Preface The SAFECOMP workshops preceding the SAFECOMP conference have become more attractive since they started generating their own proceedings in the Springer LNCS series (LNCS vol. 13415, the book in your hands, accompanies the main conference proceedings published in LNCS vol. 13414). This meant adhering to Springer’sguidelines,i.e.,theInternationalProgramCommitteeofeachworkshophad to make sure that at least three independent reviewers reviewed the papers carefully. The selection criteria differed from those of the main conference since authors were encouragedtosubmitworkshoppapers onworkinprogress orcontroversialtopics. In total, 23 regular papers (out of 27) were accepted for the SAFECOMP 2022 work- shops. There were a few invited papers and talks, which were not all included in the proceedings. All workshops had an introduction written by the chairs. The workshops wereorganizedasonlineorhybrideventsbecauseofuncertaintiesaroundCOVID-19. This year, eight workshops had been proposed, one was cancelled, one (DepDe- vOps) was integrated with DECSoS, and one (ARCH 2022) arranged its own pro- ceedings outside this volume: (cid:129) DECSoS 2022 – 17th Workshop on Dependable Smart Embedded and Cyber-Physical Systems and Systems-of-Systems, chaired by Erwin Schoitsch and Amund Skavhaug. (cid:129) DepDevOps 2022 – 3rd International Workshop on Dependable Development-Operation Continuum Methods for Dependable Cyber-Physical Systems, chaired by Miren Illarramendi, Aitor Arrieta, and Irune Agirre. (cid:129) SASSUR 2022 – 9th International Workshop on Next Generation of System Assurance Approaches for Critical Systems, chaired by Jose Luis de la Vara, Alejandra Ruiz, and Antonio Kung. (cid:129) SENSEI 2022 – 1st International Workshop on Security and Safety Interactions, chaired by Christina Kolb, Milan Lopuhaä-Zwakenberg, and Elena Troubitsyna. (cid:129) USDAI 2022 – 3rd International Workshop on Underpinnings for Safe Distributed AI, chaired by Morten Larsen, Merijn van Tooren, Alain Sears, and Daniel Reti. (cid:129) WAISE 2022 – 5th International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Safety Engineering,chairedbyOrlandoAvila-García,MauricioCastillo-Effen,Chih-Hong Cheng, Zakaria Chihani, and Simos Gerasimou. The workshops provided a truly international platform for academia and industry.
