Each paper was double-blind reviewed by at least three experts from an international committee of 66 experienced researchers. In the same process, 40 other papers were selected for publication in the conference proceedings and in Cumincad (cumincad.scix.net). The papers in this book have been categorized under six headings: (1) Theory, Methodology, and Practice of Architectural and Interior Design, (2) Support Systems for Design Decisions, (3) Tools, Methods, and Implementation of Urban Design, (4) Rethinking Space and Spatial Behavior, (5) Fabrication and Materialization, (6)ShapeStudies.Thefirstgroupisaboutresearchinarchitecturalandinteriordesign. The second offers a broad range of studies in optimizing the creation and sustaining of the built environment. The third provides examples of various tools, methods, and applications of computation in the urban environment. The fourth group presents studies of the analysis of space or human behaviors.
