This learned and pious lady energetically rallied public opinion behind a movement devoted to the revival of Islam. She organized a public education system for women and was at the heart of a sisterhood which esteemed service to the community. This book is central to an understanding of Islam in West Africa and the significant role played by women in the region. Alhaji Dr. Sambo Wali b. Junaidu July 1995 Sokoto, Nigeria
