You are eligible to register for winter semester 1991 ifyou registered for and completed regular day school classes during fall semester 1990orfall block 1990, orifyou have been issued avalid letterofadmission for wintersemester 1991 by the Admissions Office. Ifyou do not meet one ofthese criteria, registration will not bepermitted. Important notice: The university reserves the right to close registration at the time the student enrollment reaches the maximum numberset by the board oftrustees. Continuing Ecclesiastical Endorsement All students must have a new continuing ecclesiastical endorsementeach year by the April 1 deadline. LDS students must receive this endorsement from the bishop of the ward where they reside during winter semester. Non-LDS studentsmayobtainanendorsementthroughanecclesiasticalofficeroftheirchoiceorthroughtheStudentLifeOffice. A late fee will beassessed foranyendorsementcompletedaftertheApril 1 deadline. Nostudentwillbeabletoregister forfall semester without this new endorsement. All students areexpectedtoabideby all requirementsoftheBYUCodeofHonor, whichincludestheresidential living standards and the dress and grooming standards ofthe university. LDS students are expected to do their duty in the Church, attendtheirmeetings, and abide by the rules and standards oftheChurch. Step Declare Your Intent to Register 1 : Receive from the Registration Office an Intent to Register Form. Currently enrolled students will be mailed an IntenttoRegisterForminOctober. This formwill be mailedtonewlyadmittedstudentsbeginninginOctoberandona continuing basis as they are admitted. If you have not received this form by November 1, contact the Registration Office. CompletetheIntentto RegisterForm by updatingyourcurrentmailingaddress. Declareyourintenttoregisterbyreturningtheform witha$50tuitionprepaymenttotheBYUCashiers' Office, D-148 ASB, Provo, Utah 84602. On receipt of the nonrefundable, nontransferable tuition prepayment, the Touch-tone telephone registration system will be opened for your use. No $50 prepayment is required of scholarship recipients; however, scholarship recipients must return the Intent to Register Form (see Tuition PaymentCalendaronpage 7). X step 5: Pay Tuition $50 Prepayment Required Before Registration October l-November30, 1990 A minimum of$50 is required as a tuition prepayment. The prepayment is applied toward total tuition, and the $50 is nonrefundable. Registration by telephone is allowed afteryou declare yourintent to registerby returning the Intent to RegisterForm. Follow the instructionson the Intent to RegisterForm carefully. Those whodo not prepay $50 before December 1, 1990, mustpay full tuition toaccess telephone registration. Payment Deadline December 15, 1990 (withoutlatefee) TheTuition Billing Statementand aconfirmation ofclasses will be mailedby December 1, 1990. Ifyou registerafter November30and/orhave not received this notice by December 10, contactthe RegistrationOffice immediately. Full tuition must be received in the BYU Cashiers' Office by4:00p.m. December 15. Important notice: If you fail to meet the tuition deadline, you will be assessed a late fee ($50 December 16-January 4; $90January7-January 18). You will beassessed alate tuition fee ifyou pay lessthanfull-time tuition by December 15andare thenenrolled orlater becomeenrolled for more than8credithours. Tuition Payment Calendar Dates Activities Your $50 nonrefundable payment with Intent to Register Form opens the October 1-November30 telephone registration system through December 15. (Scholarship or grant studentswithzeroamountdueneedonlysubmittheIntenttoRegisterFormto accessthe telephoneregistration system.) December 1-December 15 Full tuition payment will open the telephone registration system through January4. December 15 Full tuition payment by this date avoids late fees and keeps the telephone registration systemopen throughJanuary4. December 16-January4 Tuition payment with a $50 late fee will open the telephone registration systemthroughJanuary4. January4 Telephoneregistration closes. Tuition payment with a $90 late fee will allow in-person registration through January 7-January 18 January 18, which is the last day for registering late, adding classes, and paying tuition. Students who do not pay tuition by January 18 may be re- quested towithdraw from classes. A 20percenttuition charge will remain on the student's account. Pell Grant Requirement Tuition assessed on the Tuition Billing Statement is based on full-time enrollment of 8.5 credit hours or more for a semesterand4.5credithoursormoreforaterm. ThePellGrantamountontheTuitionBillingStatementisbasedonthe assumption that enrollment is for 12 credit hours or more for a semester and 6 credit hours or more for a term. Pell recipients who enroll for less than this receive a partial Pell Grant and must pay the difference between the advanced grantand theirtuitionchargebythe deadline toavoidthe late tuition fee.
