Population Housing Race Vacancy characteristics Hispanic origin Tenure (owned or rented) Age Group quarters Sex Value of home/Monthly rent Marital Status Number of units in structure Household relationship Number of rooms in unit These data do not include items from the Seunple Component, the long forms completed by one household in six, which are targeted for release in 1992 as STF3 STF3 data items cover many additional . aspects, including income, employment, education, occupation, ancestry, migration, as well as more detailed housing unit characteristics including condominium status. In this report the 1990 STFl Census Data by block group was assembled into 69 Neighborhood Statistical Areas. The BRA Research Department, also has 1980 census data available by neighborhood statistical area in report number 143. These data are also availsible on computer disk at $10 per disk with reduced rates for government, non-profits and students with valid ID. At a future date an 8 page profile may also available for each neighborhood statistical area. Also available at the BRA Research Department, are 8 page profiles for the City of Boston and it's 16 neighborhood planning districts, reports numbered 410-426. There are also detail.ed profiles of Boston and the neighborhood planning districts with comparisons to 1980 available in repcr-ts 431-450. 1990 STFl Census data is also available for the other 350 communities in Massachusetts, the 14 counties, and the Commonwealth. These can be obtained by contacting the State Data Center, Massachusetts Institute for Social and Economic Research, 128 Thompson Hall, University of Massachusetts, MA 01003, Phone (413) 545-3460. BRA publication number 430, Census Glossary, may aJ.so be of intarest. It is a 20 page appendix titled, "Definitions of Sui'ject Characteristics", excerpted from the U.S. Census Summary Population and Housing Characteristics, Massachusetts, 1990. The next census report will be a printout of Boston's Census Tracts. y
