Installing or Upgrading EasyQoS
TheEasyQoSimageisbuiltintotheAPIC-EMcontrollerimage.WhenyouinstallorupgradeCiscoAPIC-EM,
theCiscoEasyQoSapplicationisinstalledorupgradedaswell.
AfterinstallingorupgradingtheAPIC-EMsoftware,youcanbegintouseEasyQoSbyenablingtheapplication.

CSCva39044 WhenaCisco2500SeriesWirelessController(WLC)
isupgradedfromversion7.4.100.0orlowertoany
versionthatEasyQossupports,EasyQoscanpusha
policytotheWLC,butitcannotattachtheWLAN.
Inthisscenario,EasyQosshouldnotpushthepolicy
totheWLC.Instead,itshoulddisplayamessageon
theEasyQosGUIsimilartothefollowing:
"AVCisnotsupportedwiththecurrentbootloader
version(1.0.16).Pleaseupgradethebootloaderto
version1.0.18orFieldUpgradablesoftwareversion
1.8.0.0orhigher.SeeCiscodocumentationfor
informationaboutFieldUpgradablesoftware.”
ThisissueisspecifictotheCisco2500Series
WirelessController(WLC).
Workaround:
Upgradethewirelesscontrollerbootloadertoversion
1.0.18orhigher,performaninventory
synchronization,andreapplythepolicy.

EasyQoSfailstoconfigurethedeviceandreportsan
error.

•ThePostgresservicefortheCiscoAPIC-EMcontrollerrestartedonascalesetupwith10,000devices
whichwasidlefor24-36hours.
•WhenenteringcharactersintheEasyQoSGUIforaURLfieldwhileaddingacustomapplication,Cisco
EasyQoSsupportsupto30characters.ThefollowingCiscoIOSversionssupportonly29charactersin
theURLfield:

•CustomappscreatedusingtheEasyQoSGUIapplicationrequireanIPaddress(mandatoryfield).Custom
appscreatedusingtheAPIdonotrequireanIPaddress(optionalfield).Customappscreatedwithout
anIPaddressusingtheAPIwillfailwhenappliedtoaNBARrouter.NBARroutersdonotsupport
applicationswithoutanIPaddress.ToapplythepolicyonNBARrouters,pleaseremovethecustom
appfromthelist.
•WhenremovinganetworkdevicefromascopeinEasyQoS,optionsthatpermityoutorestoretothe
originalpolicyordeletethepolicyarenottriggered.Additionally,unliketheoptioninEasyQoSthat
permitsyoutoreapplyapolicy,therearenooptionstorestoreanoriginalpolicyortodeleteapolicy
whenapolicyfailsonthenetworkdevices.
•FortheEasyQoSapplication,themaximumnumberofdevicesthatcanbeconfiguredforascopeis
2000.
•CiscoEasyQoSisnotsupportedontheCiscoASR1000seriesrouterrunningCiscoIOSXE16.3.1.
•WithintheEasyQoSapplication,DynamicQoSisabetafunctionalityforthisrelease.
•TheDSCP-to-UPmappingsprovisionedbyEasyQoStoWLCplatformsarenotchanged,regardlessof
whetherthenetworkadministratorhasmodifiedtheDSCPmarkingassignedtoagiventraffic-class.
Thiscouldresultinsub-optimalQoS.Thismayoccurifthetraffic-classisassignedaDSCPmarking
whichmapstothewrongIEEE802.11userpriority(UP).Forexample,ifanetworkadministrator
assignstheMultimedia-Streamingvideotraffic-classaDSCPvaluethatmapstoaUPthatbelongsto
theBestEffort802.11accesscategory(AC),thenMultimedia-StreamingtrafficwillreceiveBestEffort
serviceacrossthewirelessmedium.
•WhenrollingbackanAPIC-EM1.5policyinvolvingWLCplatforms,EasyQoSwillremovetheAVC
ProfilefromtheWLAN/SSID,andwillchangetheQoSProfiletoSilver(BestEffort).EasyQoSwill
leaveFastlaneenabledfortheWLAN/SSID,althoughthereisnoAVCProfileassociatedwithFastlane
andtheQoSProfileassociatedwiththeWLAN/SSIDhasbeenchangedfromPlatinum(thedefaultwith
Fastlane)toSilver.
