Tech he carried out research work in University of Dortmund Germany on emulsion polymerization for four months. Dr. Sonawane has pub- lished more than 50 research papers in reputed journals, seven book chapters, and six Indian patents applications. He was a recipient of prestigious the BOY- SCAST Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology Govern- ment of India in year 2009. He was a visiting academic and worked in the par- ticle Fluid Processing Center, University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also a Heritage Fellow and worked in the chemical engineering department at Instito Superio Technico Lisbon, Portugal in 2013. He was elected young Associate Fellow from Maharashtra Academy of Science. He has completed six consul- tancies in the chemical industries and four research projects from the Indian Government. Currently ISRO and Ministry of Environment and Forest projects are going on. He has awarded eight MTech and two PhD, and currently two PhD and two MTech students are working with him. He is reviewer of several international journals, notably in chemical engineering science, industrial en- gineering chemistry research, chemical engineering journal, materials science, chemical engineering processing, and process intensification. He has a good liaison with industries such as Corning India, Calchem, Roha Carbonates, Felix Industries etc. Recently Corning has donated a €30,000 (approximately Rs. 20 Lacs) reactor to Dr. Sonawane’s laboratory for working with pharmaceutical and chemical industries in the area of process intensification. Y. Pydi Setty, PhD Professor Y. Pydi Setty is currently working as Pro- fessor in the Chemical Engineering Department, Na- tional Institute of Technology, Warangal, Telangana, India. He received his MTech (1978) and PhD from IIT Madras (1984), India. His research interests are focused on hydrodynamics and RTD studies in a flu- idized bed drying, circulating fluidized bed, biologi- cal wastewater treatment using fluidized bed bioreac- tor, and packed bed bioreactor modeling, simulation, and optimization of chemical engineering processes. He received the Sir Ganga Ram Memorial Award in January 2000 for the paper titled “Study on heat transfer using limpet coil jacket,” published in the year 1998 by IEI (India), Chemical Engineering Divi- sion, and for the paper titled “Total liquid holdup in a liquid-liquid-solid fluid- ized bed” he was given a certificate of merit by IEI (India), Chemical Engineer- ing Division. His paper titled “Heat transfer studies using a limpet coil jacket” was selected as the best paper in the technical session at IEI (India) held at Visakhapatnam, India. Currently he has ISRO Project for preparation of nano Al particles. He also completed the MHRD sponsored project for Curriculum Design and Develop- ment and Consultancy from Pilot Scale Production of Nano Additives Argonate Phase-1. He has 16 research articles in SCI journals and one patent, 16 articles in international and national conferences. Four PhD students have completed their theses, and two are working under his guidance. Srinu Naik Sapavatu, PhD Srinu Naik Sapavatu has obtained a PhD in chemi- cal engineering on “Optimization of Parameters for Biological Denitrification of Wastewater using Gas-Liquid-Solid Bioreactor” from the National In- stitute of Technology, Warangal (2013); an MTech from Chemical Engineering from Osmania Univer- sity (2003); and a BTech in Chemical Engineering from Nagarjuna University (2001), India.
