Within our wide selection of programs, academic courses and specialty camps, we believe we have something to challenge and stimu¬ late your interests, regardless of your age or previous experience. Governor Dummer Academy, America's oldest independent boarding school, successfully blends 233 years of history with state-of- the-art facilities to provide an unsurpassed atmosphere for learning. Among the Academy's facilities are our two centers for visual and per¬ forming arts, three computer labs, four science labs, a 48,000-square-foot field house and various classrooms and seminar rooms designed for the arts, humanities and sciences. Our Summer Program faculty consists of a diverse group of dedicated men and women who are highly skilled in their respective fields. They include full-time members of the Governor Dummer Acad¬ emy faculty, as well as other experienced educators from various schools, colleges and universities. All have been carefully chosen to offer the finest educational experience available. Students in the GDA Summer Program are encouraged to explore and develop their skills, talents and interests in this positive, comfortable and well-appointed summer environment. Governor Dummer Academy 7 Summer Program The GDA Summer Program 1996 Dear Families: Summers at Governor Dummer Academy offer students of all ages and nationalities opportunities to learn and have fun in a safe, creative and enriching environment. While many of last year's favorites have returned for summer 1996, including A Children's Theatre, Teen Theatre Workshop and the basketball and tennis programs, many other courses have been expanded or added. Our new "Momentum" program for middle school students, along with the elementary school courses, allow us to expand into areas that are underserved elsewhere in the local community. Creativity, energy and excitement continue to grow throughout the GDA campus during the Summer Program as students take advantage of our unique offerings and become actively engaged in this supportive environment. We invite students of all ages to come and participate. If you have questions about any of our summer programs, please call me at (508) 462-4298.
