Brown is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Boston University, and director of research at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety & Related Disorders. He has published extensively in the areas of the classification ofanxiety andmooddisorders,vulnerability toemotionaldisorders,psychometrics, and methodological advances in social sciences research. In addition to conducting his own grant-supported research, Dr. Brown serves as a statistical investigator or consultant on numerous federally funded research projects. He has been on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including a recent appointment as associate editor to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology. David H. Barlow is a world-renowned psychologist recognized as a leader and pioneer in the field of clinical psychology. He is a professor of psychology and psychiatry and director of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University. He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his Ph.D. from the University of Vermont. Among his awards are the National Institute of Mental Health Merit Award in 1987 for “research competence and productivity that are distinctly superior,” the 2000 Distinguished Scientist Award for the Appli- cations of Psychology from the American Psychological Association, and career contribution awards for the California, Connecticut, and Massachusetts Psychologi- cal Associations.
