It includes a complete list of Canadian manufacturers having more than a local distribution for their products, irrespective of membership in the Canadian Manufacturers’ Association. Their products are classified under some 10,000 different headings. I his new edition of the Index includes details of many new firms and a great variety of new products, some of them being made in Canada for the first time. In addition, it embodies count¬ less thousands of changes of names, addresses, products listings, foreign representatives, etc. The accurate and detailed classifications in this directory will ordinarily enable prospective purchasers to get in touch at once with manufacturers of the goods desired. Where specialized in¬ formation is needed, buyers are invited to call on the gratuitous service of the Commercial Intelligence Department of the Asso¬ ciation. It is suggested that importers abroad should first com¬ municate with the nearest Canadian Government Trade Com¬ missioner, consulting the list of their addresses on pages 263-4 of the Export Section. Representatives of overseas firms visiting Canada are invited to call at the Head Office of the Association where they will he given every possible assistance. Users of the Index will find the regular advertising sections invaluable in supplementing the information contained in the alphabetical and classified sections of the Directory. Advertising page numbers are indicated opposite the classified and alphabetical listings of advertisers and, in addition, your attention is invited to the classified Business Cards beginning on page 1103. For other classifications of advertisers see Table of Contents on page 3. The publishers wish to thank the manufacturers, government departments, and other organizations who have furnished in¬ formation upon which this book is based.
