Follow the directions and heed all precautions on labels. Store pesticides in onginal containers under lock and key—out of the reach of children and animals—and away from food and feed. Apply pesticides so that they do not endanger humans, livestock, crops, beneficial insects, fish, and wildlife. Do not apply pesticides where there is danger of drift when honey bees or other pollinating insects are visiting plants, or in ways that may contaminate water or leave illegal residues. Avoid prolonged inhalation of pesticide sprays or dusts, wear protective clothing and equipment, if specified on the label. If your hands become contaminated with a pesticide, do not eat or drink until you have washed. In case a pesticide is swallowed or gets in the eyes, follow the first aid treatment given on the label, and get prompt medical attention. If a pesticide is spilled on your skin or clothing, remove clothing immediately and wash skin thoroughly. NOTE: Some States have restrictions on the use of certain pesticides. Check your State and local regulations. Also, because registrations of pesticides are under constant review by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, consult your local forest pathologist, county agriculture agent, or State extension specialist to be sure the intended use is still registered. FPM 94-11 C. D. I. Technical Note No. 94-02 May 1994 C-47 AIRCRAFT SPRAY DEPOSITION PART 1: A STATISTICAL INTERPRETATION Prepared by: Alina Z. MacNichol Continuum Dynamics, Inc. ReEOsBOx30s3 Princeton, NJ 08543 Contract No. 53-0343-1-00153 Prepared for: USDA Forest Service Forest Pest Management 2121C Second Street, Suite 102 Davis, CA 95616 John W. Barry Project Officer Summary An aerial spray field test conducted by the USDA Forest Service in cooperation with the US Army Deseret Test Center in 1972 provides three sets of multiple-spray deposit card line data with which to perform statistical analysis on the deposition data collected. The test was conducted over flat, open desert terrain of western Utah. Common practice for most field testing is to use three or fewer card lines to characterize ground deposition. It is shown, through accepted statistical techniques, that a level of confidence in the field test results can be established if three or more card lines are used, or if multiple Sampling stations are used at selected points parallel to the flight path. Several suggestions are made to improve the recovery of accurate field data, and improve the quality of the results. greeter b Pace eee dinate pro ytd rst oveimiaarsely 0} eonif Nye rh eu OF i: ganah dung Ye leveaa lge r 89296 0 ostnca iy abre aeadh =S Sovisr 1 fietids e Table of Contents SECTION Suimmaryyal Queries omen enicorents..2biIncchbo d ablemofeGontentsam®,.
