How To Place An Order (see page Gl - 20 of Buyers Guide for more details) Four pieces of information are required - your Purchase Order Number, the LRDC product order number (PON), the exact quantity of the product(s) you wish to order and whether to apply the 25% Learning Resource Credit Grant. Learning Resource Grants (see pages Gl - 1 to Gl - 5) The 25% "Basic" Learning Resource Acquisition Subsidy Grant and Secondary Education Implementation Credit Allocation Grant (SEICAG) have been changed significantly. Please check pages Gl - 1 to Gl - 5 for details. G.S.T. (see page Gl - 16 of Buyers Guide) The LRDC collects the GST on products sold to schools and customers except from those excluded from paying GST by legislation, such as Indian schools/reserves, out-of-country customers and zero-rated customers who have an official certificate number providing zero-rated status. Schools may apply to Revenue Canada for a partial rebate of the GST paid on purchases based upon an earlier FST arrangement with the federal government. Price Changes (see pages Gl - 15) The LRDC will hold selling prices until March 31, 1994, unless unusual or exceptional circumstances warrant otherwise. Prepaid Transportation Costs (see page Gl - 10) LRDC determines the mode of transportation and prepays all outbound shipping charges only within Alberta. Receipt of Shipment by Customer (see page Gl - 22) Prior to signing bills of lading, check your shipments carefully to ensure that the number of parcels delivered corresponds with the number of parcels indicated on the pick/pack slip. This procedure is required for claiming a loss or shortage. School officials receiving and accepting shipments directly from the LRDC should report arrivals and accuracy of shipments promptly to their responsible jurisdiction so that payment can be issued to the LRDC without delay. Do not stamp or mark any product until you have carefully checked that you have received the correct product (title, quantity, edition, type, etc.). Marked or used products are not returnable. Report any discrepancies immediately upon receipt of your order and enclose full information including the pick/pack slip number (or photocopy of the pick/pack list) applicable to the purchase. Claims may not be accepted if not reported immediately. Payment of Accounts (see page Gl - 9) All established charge accounts are payable on a 30-day net basis. Personal orders from individuals, including teachers, will be accepted on a pre-paid basis only. Please check your calculations carefully as products will be supplied only to the value of remittance received. Do not send cash through the mail. Returns (see page Gl - 10) With prior permission, incorrectly ordered or overstocked products may be considered for return with a 15% returns charge. The product(s) must be in full saleable condition. Defective/damaged or incorrectly shipped products do not require prior permission, but we recommend you call us first for instructions. The correct pick ticket number or invoice number or your purchase order number, covering your original purchase, is to be included with the return shipment list and products. Please note that in most cases, software, cassettes, diskettes, audio/visual kits and records are not returnable. Selection of Resources (see pages Gl - 6) Selection of the type and specific learning resources is the responsibility of the customer. Please refer to the 1993-94 LRDC Buyers Guide and Supplements for a listing of all authorized learning resources. While the LRDC Buyers Guide lists all learning resources authorized by Alberta Education, the LRDC does not necessarily carry all of them for sale. Year End (March 31) Order Filling and Pricing (see page Gl - 12) In order to ensure that a customer order is shipped prior to March 31, 1994, and invoiced at the LRDC 1993-94 selling price, the LRDC must receive the fax, mail or confirmed telephone order no later than March 17, 1994. Please note that stock levels are lowest during March and any product placed on backorder and shipped by the LRDC after March 31,1994, will be invoiced at the 1994-95 selling price.
