Library of Congress Catalogue Card Number 64-20869 PREFACE The increasing emphasis on reliability of electronic equipment has led to the development of many types of special quality valves. Their use is widespread - despite the increasing use of transistors - so that data on their characteristics is essential. This volume super- sedes the British Miniature and Subminiature Valves Data Annual and provides designers and users with complete data on a wide range of special quality valves. In addition, the widening field of electronics has led to the de- velopment of many types of special electron tubes and devices, e. g. , cathode ray tubes, photocells, counters, electroluminescent panels, klystrons, magnetrons, stabilisers, etc. etc. The modern designer needs information on these devices, and the second part of this book provides data on a selection of the smaller sizes together with a con- siderable amount of applications information. The Editors hope that this completely revised and consider- ably extended volume will prove of value to designers and users of all types of electronic equipment. G. W. A. DUMMER. J.
