Callahan has represented Owsley County since 1961, when there were just over 15,000 members served by the cooperative, which was then called Jackson County RECC. Today, Jackson Energy provides electric service to over 51,000 members. Callahan is retired from Farmer’s State Bank and he and his wife Louise live in Booneville, Kentucky.
