He has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 70 book chapters and has presented at many international conferences. His research areas are related to the production of advanced biofuels and biochemical through thermochemical and biochemical conversion technologies such as gasification, pyrolysis, carbonization, torrefaction, and fermentation. He has gained expertise in hydrothermal gasification of various organic wastes and biomass, including agricultural and forestry residues, industrial effluents, municipal solid wastes, cattle manure, sewage sludge, food wastes, waste tires, and petroleum residues to produce hydrogen fuel. His similar inter ests are also in the generation of hydrothermal flames for the treatment of hazardous wastes, agronomic applications of biochar, phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soils, as well as carbon capture and sequestration. Sarangi is a Scientist with a specialization in Food Microbiology at the Central Agricultural Univer sity in Imphal, Manipur, India. His current research is focused on bioprocess engineering, renewable energy, biofuels, biochemicals, biomaterials, fermentation technology, and posthar vest engineering and technology. He has more than 10 years of teaching and research experience in biochemical engineering, microbial biotechnology, downstream processing, food microbiology, and molecular biology. Dr. Sarangi has served as a reviewer for many international journals and has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed research articles and 50 book chap ters.
