Students had to form new committees for clubs and learn to trust new teammates for sports as they all had to commit to the fact that they were being represented by different school colors and a different school mascot. Overall, though, it was an extremely which exciting experience as students embarked on new territory to claim as their own. Now 50 years later, the Lancer spirit is as strong as ever. This year's fun started out on the first day of school as freshmen times entered our large, college-like campus with an abundance of mixed emotions. As they were greeted by the upperclassmen, the freshmen immediately knew they were able to enter into some of the best years of their lives as the class of 2021. On the other end of the spectrum, the seniors also knew this was a year not to be missed. As so many of the class of 2018 took part in senior olympics, their school spirit was not to be missed. As elections and nominations were bega n under way, seniors were also now able to take on the new leadership roles on campus while mentoring the younger students. Sophomores and juniors both got over used to not being the newbies or underclassmen anymore as they picked up a more demanding course load while earning their drivers licences. Additionally, (11 many memories were made during the highly anticipated homecoming week 0 activities and culminating dance, along with other fun activities held by many of East's diverse clubs. Athletics did not disappoint as several teams advanced lliJ []1) [g)(~~ 0® \YJ® [Q) ~ ® toward regionals and even vied for a state title. Without a doubt, whether it was years ago watching the major eclipse or the new advances on our campus terrain, the 2017-2018 school year was as exciting as always. As students took then seats all over campus with their glasses on, the nocturnal bugs around campus chirped and buzzed as they thought it was suddenly night time, which was an interesting event to hear. Dunng the height of this event, students were able to use their glasses to view the sun's corona, as this view is usually hidden by the sun's which is an aura of the sun's atmosphere's stunning brightness. While some areas were outermost layer.
