TheUNDAFfocusesonfivestrategicareaswithinthemandateoftheUNinordertomosteffectivelyrespondtokeynationalpriorities.Theseareaswill setthedirectionandscopeofactionoftheUNdevelopmentassistancetoBelarusoverthenextfiveyears: —1.Sustainablesocialandeconomicdevelopment; —2.Nationalhealthcaresystem; —3.Environmentalsustainability; —4.Nationalmigrationmanagementinlinewithinternationalstandards;and —5.Nationalgovernancesystem. TheUNDAFsupportstheachievementoftheMillenniumDevelopmentGoalsanditissymbolicthattheperiodcoveredbytheUNDAFcoincideswiththe remainingtimeframeforachievingtheMDGs.WhilemostoftheMDGshavealreadybeenachievedinBelarus,moreattentionshouldnowbegivento furtherenhancethequalityoftheresultsandsustainabilityofthecountryprogress.Bothmenandwomen,theruralandurbanpopulationshouldequally benefitfromthesuccessfulrealizationoftheUNDAF.Thiswillrequiremoreintensivedialogueandinteractionbetweenthegovernmentandalllayersof thesociety.
