She is a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA), the Mid-Continent Medical Library Association (MCMLA), and the Health Sciences Library Network of Kansas City (HSLNKC). In 2006, she received the HSLNKC award for Outstanding One-Person Health Science Library. She was presented the Barbara McDowell Award for Excellence in Hospital Librarianship in 2009. This award was estab- lished in 1984 in honor of Barbara McDowell, Chief of Library Services in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Nominees are judged on Hospital Library leader- ship/innovation, Local group participation/leadership, Chapter participation/ leadership, and National participation/leadership. She has presented at MLA and has served on various committees in the HSLNKC group and MCMLA. In particular, she was a member of the MCMLALibraryAdvocacyCommitteeandthenwasChairofthecommittee from2010to2013.
