Six years.
It's been six years since the war between humans and vampires began, a war that lasted little more than a month. After years in massive internment camps, most humans returned to their former lives. They learned to co-exist with the vampires living among them.
Private investigator Charlie Welles has learned to co-exist. Though he doesn't like the vampire occupation of the United States, he knows that the alternative to co-existance is a second war with the vampires. A war that humans can't win.
Not everyone sees it that way. A violent faction of the human Resistance, dismissed by the vampires as bandits, has a plan. When the full moon rises on Christmas Eve, the sixth anniversary of the beginning of the war, the Resistance will strike.
Hired by another Resistance faction, Charlie Welles must stop the attack. Because if he doesn't, things will be bad for vampires.
But much, much worse for humans.
