He received a master’s degree from California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, California, and was an instructor at the European Bible Seminary in West Germany. The Seminary is operated by the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee), the denomination in which he is an ordained minister. Subsequently he completed the Master of Divinity at the Church of God School of Theology in Cleveland, Tennessee, and was accepted into the Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Mission. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate and holds the Doctor of Missiology from Fuller, where he formerly served as teaching assistant to C. Peter Wagner. In 1984 he was awarded the Paul Yonggi Cho Church Growth Award for his work on pentecostal missions and church growth. At present, he is Assistant Professor of Missions and Church Growth at the Church of God School of Theology in Cleveland, Tennessee. He is married to the former Janice Leach of Tampa, Florida.
