AYRE Architectural Lighting
AYRE Architectural Lighting provides custom design,
engineering, and manufacturing of lighting fxtures for
hospitality, retail, and residential spaces. Our standard
product line is defned by innovative design, precision
metal work, exquisite glass and a respect for simplicity.
All of which can be customized with a range of lamping,
difuser, and fnish options.
For unique and exceptional projects, we also specialize in
creating custom fxtures on a small or grand scale. From
concept, through a collaborative design work-fow,
to fnal realization within the architectural space, we are
able to ofer the unique lighting solutions that architects
and design professionals require.
We're committed to energy efcient design and the use
of renewable and reclaimable resources. We work in
brass, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and steel as well
as wood; our fnishes include plated, non-plated, dipped,
powder-coat, and PVD; difuser options include mouth-
blown glass, fabric, acrylic and wood veneer.

Semi Custom
Every space is unique and each designer envisions that
space in their own way. For this reason, the AYRE product
line was designed and developed from its inception with
the idea that it can be customized to satisfy each clients
taste and unique needs.
Full Custom
AYRE collaborates with interior designers, architects,
lighting designers, and lighting specifers to develop custom
lighting solutions specifc to their needs. Having an in-house
design staf increases productivity and gives the client all
the tools necessary to bring their ideas to life. We support
all phases of the design process: from concept, through a
collaborative design work-fow, to fnal realization within
the architectural space. We ofer 3D CAD modeling and
photorealistic renderings to support each project.

Designing Light
When designing a light fxture aimed at improving the
quality of light for personal grooming in the bathroom, there
are three qualities to consider.
QUALITY MOUNTING HEIGHT
The placement of the light fxture within the grooming 20” to 35”
environment is an important factor in providing a proper
distribution of functional light. Single fxtures illuminating
the face from the left and right will evenly distribute light
on the face while minimizing unsightly shadowing from
overhead lights.
Ayre bath fxtures take advantage of long tubular glass
difusers that are designed to fully illuminate the face. The
length of glass provides a uniform quality of light when
paired with our recommended warm, fuorescent lamping.
OUTPUT DISTANCE FROM WALL
In the modern workplace and home, luminance levels
commonly range from between 10 and 100 FC [foot-
candles]. In the bathroom, when functioning as a task light
for personal grooming, the recommended light output
averages 50FC.
Ayre Bath fxtures have been specifcally designed
to provide the required levels of light to enhance the
grooming experience.

Designing Light
Designing our fxtures around the recommended quality,
output, and color of light has given Ayre a distinct advantage
in the quality of bathroom fxtures available today.
COLOR
Color temperature is a very important piece of the puzzle.
For grooming environments, a warm/soft fuorescent
light with a value between 2700K-3100K [Kelvin] will
closely match the quality of natural light.

Sustainability
AYRE is committed to energy efciency in design and the
use of renewable and reclaimable resources. We work with
a number of local sources within the design community to
repurpose their waste and cutofs for use in our fxtures and
custom design applications.
The Boutique Series is manufactured using reclaimed wood
and aluminum materials. Having close relationships with
local furniture design studios allows us to repurpose the
cutof and remnant materials from high end furniture builds.
It is a great way to take advantage of the material waste
from beautiful woods that would otherwise be ground up
into sawdust for disposal.
Because energy efciency is one of our top priorities, we
ofer compact fuorescent and LED options as main and
secondary light sources throughout the product line.
